Two Young Ladies from Uganda

from: Curtin Child Learning Center, Uganda

These two young ladies are some of the most vulnerable pupils at our school.  They are orphans and are being taken care of by other mothers who fend for them through hard labor like weeding other people’s gardens to get some support either in kind-food items or money .

If they were under good care with support , they would be in Primary six or seven. Despite their resilience they are now in Primary four.

The first photo is Niyomubyeyi Ruth born on 11/01/2012, she loves debating and hopes to become  lawyer in future.  She is a jolly girl who loves netball but living in a  constrained abject poverty environment, as much as her mother tries, it’s hard to see her in school.

To support Ruth, she needs the following items.

-School Uniform:  School sweater $10; School dress $10

-Good Quality shoes that can last for two years $15

-Sports wear $20

-Sports shoes $15

-School Fees for annual term with meals is $210

Total =$280
